All Nantucket Developments homes are developed on 'brownfield sites' or are renovation projects, which demonstrates our commitment to sustainable development. Below are the key elements of our Environmental and Sustainability Policy that we are committed to:
- Site registration with the Considerate Construction Scheme.
- Reduce the impact of our developments on neighbouring communities and keep local people informed of activities.
- Minimise noise, dust and mud.
- Use of selective site plant to minimise noise and dust.
- Control traffic movement and parking.
- Protect wildlife and trees.
- Plant additional trees as part of Landscaping design.
- Site electricity to use Green tariff throughout development.
- Segregate unavoidable waste and recycle wherever possible both on site and in offices.
- Salvage and re-use material arising out of demolition wherever possible.
- Crush and retain demolition waste for hardcore use.
- Research and implement more energy efficient methods of construction and alternative forms of energy.
- Use local materials and workforce wherever possible.
- Establish the use of materials from sustainable sources and in particular implement a sustainable timber policy.
- Collection and storage of rainwater to minimise impact on mains water usage.
